According to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), laser hair removal is more than just "zapping" unwanted hairs. It is a medical procedure that reduces the amount of hair growth through a series of treatments, usually over a period of six to eight weeks and should be preformed by a qualified physician or laser technician.

Laser Hair Removal Pre-Treatment:

While laser hair removal is generally a little annoying for some people more susceptible can become very painful. To this problem there is a solution in the form anesthetic ointment. The ointment is a drug and not a cosmetic. After applying the cream, put a transparent film and expect a 30 – 60 minute wait to take effect. The lack of film or lack of wait will affect the desired result of the cream.

It is normal for the hair to continue to grow until all sessions are completed; however, you will notice that scientifically less hair will grow back after each laser treatment.
Your skin will return to its natural color shortly after laser treatment, Very rarely, some pink or redness may linger for a day or two.

Multiple laser sessions required at five-week intervals.
Do not apply any products on the treated areas of your skin, except sunscreen of you will be outside. Avoid Retin-A, alpha-hydroxy acids, glycolic acids, astringents etc. You may wash gently with soap and water, but do not rub or scrub the area.
Do not expose treatment areas to direct sunlight. Do not use tanning beds at any time during your treatment intervals with this laser. Wear a sunscreen daily if the areas to be treated will be exposed to sunlight.
